TREATS TIME!

Who doesn’t love a good banana bread!

A million recipes for banana breads have come and gone, and a million more will come and go, so of course… we’ve created ours too!

If you want to jump on the banana bread bandwagon but can’t face all the sugar and carbs of a regular loaf, stay tuned, because our version is not only deliciously healthy, but also super easy to make… and has CBD in it. Talk about a win win!

CBD in a cake?

Unsure about what CBD is and what it does? It’s OK, we’re here to help.

CBD is short for cannabidiol, an element found in the cannabis plant, hailed for its many fabulous regenerative and calming properties. And if the word cannabis scares you, don’t worry! CBD is not only legal in the UK, it’s also 100% non-psychogenic, which means it won’t make you feel all woozy and trippy.

🍌I get the CBD, but… zucchini?

The use of zucchini (or courgettes) in cakes and recipes is a great, healthy and low-carb and fat alternative to just using oil, because it adds moisture and a more consistent texture to our baking. It also may add extra water and weight, so three important things to be mindful of when using zucchini are

  1. Make sure they are well drained (if thawing from frozen, definitely make sure they are well drained)
  2. Add as the last ingredient of your batter, to make sure they are not over worked.
  3. Peeling the zucchini removed the harder shell, and the green bits that could be recognisable in a cake.

And now, for the Banana & Zucchini Bread Recipe

RECIPE:
50 ml Honey
3 bananas
200 yogurt
190 g flour
1 egg (or two eggs whites)
1/2 zucchini
1/2 tsp salt
1 full dropper Moxmilk CBD
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
Lemon peel to taste
Banana chips for decoration

🍌Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees

🍌Grate your zucchini finely with a cheese grater and set aside.

🍌Cut your banana in small chunks

🍌Place both banana and zucchini in the oven for about 7-8 minutes. This allows for the extra water to dry up, and for the banana to release that extra caramel flavour. When times is up, mush the banana up to a paste.

🍌Mix the dry ingredients together (flour, baking powder, salt, lemon peel)

🍌Mix the wet ingredients together (honey, yogurt, egg or two egg whites, Moxmilk CBD and vanilla extract), then slowly add to the dry ingredients

🍌Slowly add banana and zucchini to the mix.

🍌Bake the mix in a lightly oiled, non stick tin for 50 minutes, and let cool when done.

🍌Try not eating the whole thing in one seating.
